Message from the Fair Manager

The Pitt County Fairgrounds has already been busy this year with concerts, Boy Scouts Fund Raiser, Animated Car Show, circus, and yard sales. Now it is time for the most important event of the year—The 2015 Pitt County American Legion Agricultural Fair.

Our fair theme this year, “MOO-VING AHEAD”, sets the tone for the exciting things the fair staff has in store for you at the 96th Annual Pitt County American Legion Agricultural Fair. We are excited about our upcoming fair and the return of Powers Great American Midways for your enjoyment and entertainment. Corky and Debbie Powers join us in the excitement of providing one of the most modern midways in the fair business. Their midway consists of 35 thrilling rides, exciting games, and a variety of food and beverage opportunities. They are bringing 4 new rides with them. You do not want to miss this fabulous midway this year. Please join us in welcoming them to Greenville.

We have worked very hard to “build” an exciting fair for you to enjoy. We have some great FREE entertainment lined up for your enjoyment. Once again we will have Gospel Music featuring local talent. This year’s fair will also include TA-DA Robots (FREE), McNally’s Farms (FREE), The Kountry Kickers (FREE), live bands (FREE), Hypnotist Alan Sands (FREE), Carolina Girls (FREE), Antique Bicycles (FREE), One Man Band –Marc Dobson (FREE), Lawn Mower Pull (FREE), 18th Century Tinsmith—Michael Felk and much more.

We are also excited about our annual Pitt County Fair Community Church Choir. Churches throughout the county will come together on Tuesday, September 22, to sing songs of praise for your enjoyment. Please come out and support your local churches as we bring the community together in harmony.

My goal is to continue to have the best local/regional fair in the state. We must work as a team in order to accomplish this. We have brought the Pitt County American Legion Agricultural Fair to you. Now YOU, the community, and Eastern North Carolina region citizens must do your part by participating in the Exhibit Halls, the contests, and attendance at the various FREE shows.
Review all of the volumes of Department Class Listings in our Agricultural Exhibit Hall Tabloid. There’s something for everyone. If you have never entered an exhibit item, enter one this year. Encourage your friends and neighbors to participate. Its lots of fun.

Pay close attention to our advertising businesses that helped to support getting this information to you at no cost to you. Thank them and give them your support.

In addition to all the exciting attractions, our fair management team provides FREE parking for you each and every day of our fair week. Parking along the highway is prohibited. So bring your children, friends, and neighbors to our 96th Annual Pitt County American Legion Fair. Don’t miss out on the most exciting event of the year. Please join us in having fun on the Midway.

I look forward to seeing you there as we are MOO-VING AHEAD.
